SUMMARY:HPIB CBUS: 4th Annual HPIB/Ohio Sled Challenge - April 11th
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for another exciting ice showdown as the Hockey Players in Business Columbus Chapter faces off with and against Ohio Sled Hockey! This event will take place on Saturday\, April 11th\, from 2:40pm to 3:40pm (time may vary slightly) at The Chiller North in Lewis Center\, OH. Admission is free for all spectators\, offering an excellent opportunity to witness an exciting (and often hilarious) matchup. This year\, the event will be an exhibition occurring during the 2nd Annual Girls Sled Hockey Weekend. \nPlayers participating in the game are encouraged to support this noble cause with a minimum $50 donation to Hockey Players in Business that will be combined and donated to Ohio Sled Hockey. To make your contribution\, register for free on the event page and then proceed to the Give page and make a general donation. Your generous donations will help Ohio Sled Hockey provide invaluable opportunities for individuals with physical limitations to engage in hockey. The focus is on developing athletes through training\, encouragement\, and competition\, advancing the sport from novice to national levels. \nSame as last year\, this year’s game format will be aimed at facilitating a more competitive event. Again this year\, teams will be a mix of Ohio Sled players and HPIB members with Ohio Sled goals worth 1 and HPIB goals worth 3. \nThe funds raised from this event are crucial for the Ohio Sled Hockey Program. Be a part of this impactful event – cheer for your team and support an inspiring cause! There will be an on-site raffle as part of the weekend’s festivities to help raise additional funds. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 7th Annual International HPIB Charity Hockey Tournament on April 24-26\, 2026. \n· This event is open to members and non-members of HPIB. Players of all levels and abilities are welcome. \n· This tournament uses a skill level based scoring system to encourage teamwork. \n· Held at Gilmour Ice Arena (2045 SOM Ctr Rd\, Gates Mills\, OH 44040) \n· Limited to 120 skaters and 8 goalies (8 teams) *NOTE: Must be over the age of 21 to participate in the tournament \n· 4 games will be played by each team (1 Friday\, 2 Saturday\, and 1 Sunday) \n· Cost: $250 per player for members\, $350 for non-members of HPIB\,  $75 for Party-only attendees \n  \nDeadline to register is March 31st\, 2026 \n**Please Note: No refunds will be provided after February 28\, 2026 for cancellations. \n$250 per player for members\, $350 for non-members of HPIB (Includes: 4 games\, jersey\, welcome bag\, HPIB tournament party\, networking\, food and drink) \n• 4 game guarantee (20 minute periods\, 3 minute warm-up\, 2 referee system\, game music and live stats) \n• Scoring system – 1 point for an A player\, 2 points for a B player and 3 points for a C player. 3 goal max per game for all players. \nTeams:\n• 8 teams (Final rosters will be assembled evenly based on skill level)\n• 15 skaters and 1 goalie per team\n• Registration\, first come – first serve \nTournament Party:\nAll players in the tournament get to attend the tournament party free of charge. The party will be held at on Saturday\, April 25th at Landerhaven (6111 Landerhaven Dr\, Mayfield Heights\, OH 44124)\, with an open bar\, dinner\, auction items\, raffle items\, etc. Attire for the event is casual. This is always an awesome time\, great for networking and building connections. \n$75 for Non-player event attendees. Attend the networking event\, cost includes food\, drink\, networking and entertainment.  Open to members and guests. \nCharity Bonus:\nWe would like as many members as possible from around the US and Canada to participate in the tournament. Therefore\, whatever chapter has the most tournament participants (besides the Cleveland chapter since the event is held in Cleveland) will be able to donate $5\,000 to hockey related charity or charities of their choice. A weekend of hockey and camaraderie is the ideal way to build long-lasting relationships. Please consider playing in the tournament (all skill levels are welcome\, as we have a weighted scoring system that encourages teamwork). Please promote the tournament in your chapter and in your hockey network. \nASHA Scrimmage:\nWe will be selecting players from each team to participate in a scrimmage on Saturday\, during the break in tournament action\, vs. the Cleveland Rockin Wildcats a team of mentally disabled / challenged kids and adults.
