Sign your team up now for the 16th annual Hockey Beats Down Cancer Tournament presented by the OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks

The 2024 Hockey Beats Down Cancer tournament was a success, raising over $22,000 for cancer research through the Ohio Health Cancer Care Fund. In fact, we’ve raised more than $75,000 in the past three years! However, as some of you may have noticed, we did encounter some issues with team registrations that have caused us to take a different approach going into 2025.

This year you will register as a team instead of as individuals. Once your team representative has signed up through the Hockey Players in Business event page, we will reach out to capture your team name. The team deposit will be $500. The total team fee will be $2000. If your team has 13 rostered players, that comes out to around $150 per player, aligned with the 2024 individual dues. Collecting fees as a team during registration allows us to better administer the tournament.

If you are an individual and are interested in playing but do not have a team, we have set up a Google Form to capture your interest. We will use this list to either fill roster gaps on registered teams, or possibly look to create a team from the individual interest list. We are also actively looking for corporate sponsors. If you are affiliated with an organization that is willing to donate funds or merchandise for the raffle, please reach out directly to brandon.moskal@gmail.com.

Timeline for the 2025 Tournament:
– May 1, 2025: All team registration deposits are due.
– July 1, 2025: All team registration fees are due. At this time we will need captains to submit their final roster with USA Hockey IDs, contact information, and skill level designation. We will provide the template.

Captains, please note there are two tickets available. Your team will need to have purchased a deposit ticket ($500) AND a team balance ticket ($1500) to be considered fully paid.

Once your team deposit has been processed, we will reach out to get your team name.

Join the Hockey Players in Business (HPIB) Indianapolis Chapter for the 2nd Annual Indy Twisters vs. HPIB Charity Game on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM at the Indy Fuel Tank, 9022 E 126th Street, Fishers, IN 46038. Hosted by Matt Walker (matt.walker2@rsmus.com), this exciting event, supported by RSM US LLP, features 2 skates: There will be a matchup of 2 teams, and the winner will play against the Indy Twisters.

For $100, participants receive a jersey, socks, and post-game food and drinks, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Indy Twisters. An auction site will also be available for added fun. Don’t miss this chance to play, network, and support a great cause!

Join the Hockey Players in Business Houston Chapter for an exciting Hockey Day in Houston Football Eliminator Challenge beginning on September 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM! Test your football knowledge in this virtual survivor pool for just $20 per entry (one entry per email). Compete for a chance to win half the pot (If there are multiple winners, the winning portion will be split amongst the winners), with the other half supporting Hockey Day in Houston. Join us on September 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Patterson Ice Center (2550 Patterson Avenue, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). Enjoy free admission to this family-friendly event supporting the Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association (GRAHA). Our annual Hockey Players in Business Golf Outing is back and will be bigger than ever! The outing raises funds to support The NJ Warriors, a non-profit hockey program designed to give our disabled US Military Veterans an opportunity to rehab through the game of hockey. The NJ Warriors provide a welcoming outlet for disabled servicemen and servicewomen to connect with one another, find new purpose, renew their sense of team, and be reminded that they matter. 

The money we raise helps fund their travel, national tournament fees, and most importantly, their ice time. The event will start with breakfast and registration at 8 AM, with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. After golf, enjoy lunch with an open bar before the 50/50 helicopter ball drop! 

The event will have a silent auction, raffles, and prizes for closest to the pin and the longest drive. The cost of the event is $250 for a single golfer, or $1,000 for a foursome. Registration for the event ends on Sunday, October 6th.

Join the Hockey Players in Business North Carolina Chapter for the 3rd Annual CCHL Women's Draft Tournament in Raleigh, NC, on November 27-30, 2025! The event kicks off with a draft party from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Enjoy a draft-style tournament, a 4-game guarantee (2 games Saturday, 2 games Sunday), a souvenir t-shirt, and a custom jersey with matching socks from DadBod Sweaters. Funds will support Interact, the sole provider of domestic violence and sexual assault services in Wake County.

Join the Hockey Players in Business (HPIB) Columbus chapter for the “CBJ Rink of Dreams” event on Friday, November 28th (Black Friday)! From 1:10 PM to 2:55 PM at Nationwide Arena, hit the main ice for a drop-in style scrimmage game (1:55 PM–2:55 PM), where the Columbus Blue Jackets pros play. Then, settle into a mezzanine seat to watch the Blue Jackets take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:00 PM.
