Matt is Deputy Director/Treasurer of Metroparks Toledo and is a former archery national champion, a member of the United States Archery Team from 1996 through 2003. HPIB Detroit members and prospective members will gather for an evening of connecting with craft cocktails on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Detroit City Distillery Tasting Room. Event admission will include a cocktail, appetizers, panel discussion and networking in the tasting room from 5:30pm – 7:00pm followed by a private tour of the Detroit Distillery Whiskey Factory from 7:00pm – 7:30pm. We will begin our meeting at 6:30pm until 10pm. Mike Mullally will be our guest speaker. Mike is the past President of AHAI and is also an active Board Member for the ISU Hockey Alumni team and is being inducted February 16th. We will have some great topics to review as a group, so we are looking forward to sharing some new initiatives. Please feel free to bring at least one new member to our meeting. Hockey Players in Business Phoenix Chapter will be hosting our first event on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 5-7PM. We will be having a watch party event for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The event will be hosted at 18 Degrees inside the Ice Den Scottsdale in front of the 165” TV Screen. Cost for the event is $25 per person including food and 2 drink tickets. HPIB proudly announces the 3rd Annual Toledo Area Stanley Cup Celebration. We will hold a watch party for game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Thursday, June 6, 2019. The event will be held at the Toledo Club Sports Bar & Grill on the 2nd floor from 7-11pm. The cost will be $30 per person which includes the historic facility, private room venue, servers, food buffet and 2 pints of house beer. Pay at the door, Spouses/Partners/Guests are welcome. Join HPIB Cleveland chapter members at our upcoming networking event on July 23rd where we will welcome Murry Gunty, Founder & CEO of Black Bear Sports Group, Inc. as our guest speaker at this event. His topic will be focused on the business of running hockey rinks and professional junior teams. Black Bear Sports Group, Inc. is a Chevy Chase, MD based private company that was founded in 2015, and is led by CEO Mr. Murry Gunty. Mr. Gunty is a lifelong hockey fan who founded Black Bear based on combining his turnaround experience in a broad array of industries with his passion for the game of hockey. Black Bear's goal is to save older rinks by investing capital to bring their facilities up to modern standards and provide great programming for its hockey and figure skating communities. Black Bear has subsequently expanded into junior hockey ownership to provide its facility participants a pathway to college hockey.
