HPIB PHX: June 2020 Member Spotlight – Rob Cowie

HPIB Phoenix Chapter Featured Member: Rob Cowie, Realtor at RealtyONE Group, Principal of Athletes Resource LLC., Nashville Predators Pro Scout

Rob Cowie was born in Toronto, Canada and attended Northeastern University from 1988-91. His overall hockey career stats are 46-96-142 in 139 games played. Rob was the 2nd leading defenseman scorer, ranking 14th overall. He earned the honors of All-Hockey East in 1988,1989,1990 and All-American in 1990 signing with the Winnipeg Jets. Rob’s best season came when playing for the Springfield Indians in 1994 with a stat line of 17-57-74. He was a first Team All-Star that season.

Signing with the Kings in 1995, Rob split the 1995-96 seasons between LA and affiliate PHX Roadrunners. His first NHL goal was assisted by Wayne Gretzky! After 1996, it was off to Europe notably joining Eisbären Berlin from 1998-2002. He retired after the 2004 season with the Milano Vipers as a 2-time champion.

Rob is an active scout, starting part-time for the Islanders then becoming a full-time pro scout for the Maple Leafs and currently running the Pro Scouting division for the Predators. He is an active member of the NHL Alumni chapter in PHX. He built The Muskoka Group, a Real Estate group he runs in Scottsdale, AZ. Rob has won awards at Prudential AZ Properties, Berkshire Hathaway and RealtyOne combining his Hockey and Real Estate careers.

Rob and wife Holly have 3 daughters: Alexandra (19) attends Barrett – The Honors College at Arizona State University, Brooke (17) a senior at Pinnacle High School and a Fresno State commit on a Volleyball scholarship, and Taylor (14) a freshman at Pinnacle High School who plays lead guitar and bass in the all-girls pop band The Queen Beez. Rob and Holly are avid Bikers both on the road and off.
